Decode your beauty formula
and embrace your personal needs
  • The Decoder by CODAGE is a series of information sheets that allow you to better diagnose your needs, understand your skin’s metabolism and, above all, get to know every active ingredient in the collection.

An intelligent approach to active cosmetics that allows you to truly understand your skin and take good care of it, effectively and simply…

  • Nutri-Elements are the foundation of the CODAGE visual identity, and are «cocktail» of an average of 3 active ingredients with a synergistic action.
Most Nutri-Elements are available in 3 concentrations (3-max, 2-med, 1-min) to ensure a perfectly calibrated formula.

Given specific skin needs, nutri-elements are dosed and assembled to form a unique «codage» and to reveal the product formula.
CODAGE continually updates the composition of its Nutri-Elements based on research to offer the best in innovative active cosmetics.

Et
Heat protection

[Et]

  • Presentation

Preserves the skin’s ability to stay hydrated and protected when exposed to intense heat.

  • Mechanisms of action

Infrared radiation represents more than 50% of the solar energy reaching the skin, it is particularly dangerous in environments with intense heat.

➔ Protection of cells against oxidative stress generated by infrared radiation

    • Inhibition of the formation of free radicals
    • Reducation of the inflammation induced by an overexposure to infrared radiation

➔ Reinforcement of the skin's integrity in situations of extreme heat:

    • Improvement of hydration and limitation of insensible water loss.
    • Maintenance and protection of the dermal architecture (elastin and collagen) to limit the appearance of wrinkles.
    • Reinforcement of the cohesion of the stratum corneum for optimization of the barrier function.
    • Stimulation of the metabolic activity of mitochondria (cellular respiration) and natural detoxification processes.
  • Clinical results

    [Et] : Extremophilic Protective Enzyme
Biotechnological ferment containing multifunctional and stable enzymes from the Guaymas Basin in the Gulf of California. These thermophilic enzymes live on the sea floor at a depth of over 2000 meters.

    ➔ In-Vitro :

    • Inhibition of free radical formation (-28%) and the propagation of oxidative stress induced by infrared radiation (more than 50% of solar energy reaching the skin).
    • Increase of 123% of the mitochondrial water content, to better stimulate metabolic activity
    • Significant decreases in inflammatory mediators after infrared aggression (-53% for example for Interleukin 6, and -61% for type 8)
    • Protection of dermal fibers against infrared radiation: +70% of collagen on treated vs untreated sample after irradiation; +28% of elastin constituents on treated vs untreated sample after irradiation

    ➔ In-Vivo :

    • Saves 5.2 years of age in 6 months of use (evaluation based on the following aging criteria: pigment spots, wrinkles and blemishes)
    • Limitation of insensible water loss in extreme environments
    • Improvement of epidermal integrity by strengthening the cohesion of the stratum corneum
    • 11.2% reduction in the surface area of pigmented spots > 36% reduction in the number of wrinkles

When it’s hot out, body temperature rises, resulting in serious dehydration. To protect itself against this, our body has developed a natural response, synthesising special proteins known as “heat shock proteins”. HSPs are “chaperone” proteins that protect proteins or eliminate cells that have been irreversibly damaged. However, the body requires a significant amount of energy to produce HSPs, which becomes problematic if heat exposure is prolonged: the body’s limits are exceeded and, exhausted, it is no longer capable of fighting off stress-induced damage. As a result, when summer is on its way or an extended trip to a tropical region planned, it’s a good idea to prepare your skin to take on the climatic stress it will encounter.

To prevent the metabolism from reaching a state of exhaustion and resulting damage from appearing on the skin, the body’s natural base level of HSPs should be increased in advance, and their synthesis under stressful conditions intensified. Once you’ve done this, you’ll be ready to take the heat!
