Decode your beauty formula
and embrace your personal needs
  • The Decoder by CODAGE is a series of information sheets that allow you to better diagnose your needs, understand your skin’s metabolism and, above all, get to know every active ingredient in the collection.

An intelligent approach to active cosmetics that allows you to truly understand your skin and take good care of it, effectively and simply…

  • Nutri-Elements are the foundation of the CODAGE visual identity, and are «cocktail» of an average of 3 active ingredients with a synergistic action.
Most Nutri-Elements are available in 3 concentrations (3-max, 2-med, 1-min) to ensure a perfectly calibrated formula.

Given specific skin needs, nutri-elements are dosed and assembled to form a unique «codage» and to reveal the product formula.
CODAGE continually updates the composition of its Nutri-Elements based on research to offer the best in innovative active cosmetics.

Tc
Anti-spots

[Tca] + [Tcb]

  • Presentation

Corrects localized pigmentation disorders for an even and radiant tone.

  • Mechanisms of action

➔ Reduction of the size and pigmentation of brown spots:

    • by inhibiting the activation of melanin synthesis and its overproduction in case of external stress (photo-induced, inflammation-induced and pollution-induced)
    • by limiting the export/diffusion of melanin in the layers of the epidermis

➔ Protection of the skin against photo-induced oxidative stress, induced pollution and induced inflammation thanks to antioxidant and anti-free radical actions. Oxidative stress can then lead to inflammation and hyperpigmentation.

  • Clinical results

    [Tca] Sea Lily Extract
    [Tcb] Marine Exopolysaccharides
[Tcc] Complex of Chinese Medicinal Plants

    [Tca]: Sea Lily Extract
Aqueous extract of pancratium maritimum, this plant also called sea lily or sand lily, spreads on the sand of the Mediterranean beaches and is known for its resistance to drought and sea spray

    ➔ In-Vitro :
    • Inhibition of intracellular melanin synthesis by 73%.
    • Decreased melanin export to the epidermis by 62% by blocking communication between melanocytes and skin nerve fibers.

    ➔ In-Vivo :
    • Decrease in the surface area of pigmented spots by 18.9% on average and up to -63.4% after 42 days.
    • Reduction in the surface area of pigmented spots by an average of 24.8% and up to -61.1% after 84 days.
    • Lightening of brown spots by 12.1% on average and up to 61.5% after 84 days.
    • Reduction of the difference in pigmentation between the spot and the skin by 11.6% on average and up to 53% after 84 days.

    [Tcb]: Marine Exopolysaccharides
The very first marine exopolysaccharide in which two amino acids have been identified: serine and alanine. These two amino acids induce a folding of the molecule, thus facilitating its penetration into the skin to interact between melanocytes and keratinocytes at the time of melanin diffusion.

    ➔ In-Vitro :
    • 35% inhibition of the formation of pigment synapses: bridge between melanocytes and keratinocytes for melanin transport
    • 45% protection against the production of pollution-induced free radicals
    • 71% protection against pollution-induced melanin synthesis
    • 39% protection against the production of photo-induced free radicals
    • 81% protection against photo-induced melanin synthesis

    ➔ In-Vivo after 8 weeks of treatment:
    • 20% reduction in brown spots on average and up to 60% reduction
    • Reduction of 12% on average of the surface of the spots and up to 51%.
    • 96% of users observe a reduction in spots
    • 92% of users find their pigmentation more even
    • 92% of users find their complexion transformed after each application

[Tcc]: Complex of Chinese Medicinal Plants
This complex of three plants - astragalus membranaceus (Huang Qi), bupleurum falcatum (Chai Hu), atractylodes macrocephala (Bai Zhu) - is inspired by traditional Chinese medicine to illuminate and smooth the skin of the face

    ➔ In-Vitro :
    • 71% of lipid oxidation by photo-induced oxidative stress
    • 36% neutralization of free radicals in polluted environments
    • Inhibition of melanin synthesis by 56% (via action on a decrease in tyrosinase concentration)

    ➔ In-Vivo :
    • Decrease in the density, size and intensity of spots by 7.6%, 5.2% and 8.9% respectively
    • 4.7% increase in skin tone uniformity and up to 33% increase in skin tone intensity
    • 9.3% increase in skin tone luminosity and up to 37% improvement in skin tone brightness
    • Decrease in melanin index (skin color) by 12.8% and up to 54%

Melanin is synthesised by melanocytes and subsequently stored in and transported by melanosomes, protecting the DNA in skin cells against the harmful effects of UV rays. With age, brown spots appear in areas that have been overexposed to the sun. In fact, in young, healthy skin, cells containing melanin are continually replaced by new ones without melanin, every 28 days. However, ageing upsets this cycle, resulting in an accumulation of melanin, which is responsible for pigmentation and thus for the appearance of dark spots.

Two actions can be taken to lighten these spots: either direct, by reducing the synthesis and transport of melanin to reduce the size and pigmentation of the spots; or preventative, by activating cellular regeneration and repair.
